My name is Yvonne McGinnis. I’m the owner of We’re Cleaning Incorporated.
We’ve been in business since 1985, and we ’re the oldest minority- and female-owned businesses left from the Mayor Harold Washington days in Chicago. Our biggest job was Soldiers Field, a 65000 seat stadium which we cleaned for more than 19 years. Others are still there for the next 15 years. We were removed without cause and we have been fighting it in court for the last 6 years. Therefore we understand the necessity of an organization like A Just Cause to aid and assist companies of disadvantages.
These small companies who can’t fight their own battles need help which brings services and jobs to their communities.
The real losers are everybody!!!
The City of Chicago spends over $10 billion a year. How much of this is spent in your community?
Hundreds of small businesses are forced to shut down each year for unjust reasons. They as well are shoved to the side while contracts are stolen from them. The larger businesses continue to thrive and grow tremendously.
